The Braintrust would like to thank everyone who came out on March 29th to relax and unwind at the Giveback at Bamboo. We especially want to thank the Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy for making the trip from Brooklyn to tell us about the important work that they are doing with young people in Flatbush, Crown Heights and Bedford Stuyvesant. The upcoming May 17th dance contest at Brooklyn Museum and the Global AxE conference in Brazil both look to be can’t miss events. Of course, we are thankful for the live DJ set and all the live performances that kept us entertained throughout the night. The Braintrust will be in Hollywood @ the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel on Thursday April 26th and back in downtown, NYC at Bamboo on May 24th 2012, so save the date and stay tuned for more information on the next Giveback. Check out the latest Braintrust Sample revue at our SoundCloud.

Friends and colleagues,
Next Thursday, March 29th from 7pm-11pm, the folks at Bamboo open their doors (Free) to let us mix, mingle, talk shop, dance, and most importantly, unwind.
Big thanks goes out to our supporters, colleagues, and friends that turned out last month and every month: Funding Exchange, New York Blacks in Philanthropy, Hispanics in Philanthropy, EPIP, City Limits, JP Morgan Chase, Philanthropy New York, Funders Collaborative on Youth Organizing, GOLES, Rudin Management, the Brooklyn Community Foundation and others. It was a night of good music and an excellent birthday celebration for Brain Truster and resident DJ, Anthony Simmons.
This month we recognize the dedicated staff and members of Brooklyn’s premier youth arts organization, Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy.
As usual, on the wheels o’ steel will be resident Giveback DJs and Brain Trust members Dr. Phillgood and Tony Tantrum, bringing you Part II of the Sample Revue along with the hits of today and yesteryear. As usual, the live music set is handled by Neo-Soul house band the Night Dreamers.
Feel free to pass this invitation along to your folks and nonprofit networks as well.
Hope to see you there.
Best Regards,
The Brain Trust
(Chad, Kevin, Marcus, Phillip, Anthony, et al)
PS., For you fans of the great sounds of the resident GIVEBACK DJ’s, you can now listen and download the mixes and blends of the Giveback here on our Tumblr timeline.
Please enjoy :)
